NaPoWriMo 2022🎙📚 01/04/2022 -Day 1

I chose to use today’s prompt but rather than a prose poem, I decided to use the Cherita poetic form.

And last but not least, our optional prompt! I got this one from a workshop I did last year with Beatrix Gates, and I’ve found it really helpful. The prompt is based on Robert Hass’s remarkable prose poem, “A Story About the Body.” The idea is to write your own prose poem that, whatever title you choose to give it, is a story about the body. The poem should contain an encounter between two people, some spoken language, and at least one crisp visual image – Maureen Thorson

They almost passed in the street.

Like strangers but really ex-lovers so they kissed.
The almost forgotten energy zinged between their bodies.

He smiled asked how she was.
She smiled and told him she was fine.
She was healed and whole; they parted,
yet she still felt his energy on her skin
