Finally, here’s our prompt – optional, as always! This one comes to us from Moist Poetry Journal, which posted this prompt by K-Ming Chang a while back:
What are you haunted by, or what haunts you? Write a poem responding to this question. Then change the word haunt to hunt.
Happy (and potentially spooky) writing!
HUNTED BY INNOCENCE
I am hunted by all the dead innocents,
Of all the wars in which they died.
I am flooded with a great impotence,
When God was claimed by every side.
I am hunted by their immortal souls,
Crying out for justice for the acts of bloodshed.
I am hunted by all those rich bankrolls,
Made by the rich, while getting ahead
They do not care about the dead innocents,
Making money is their only god.
They give money and arms to the participants
Of various wars, while innocence they defraud.
