#NaPoWriMo
Now, for today's optional prompt, write a poem that repeats or focuses on a single colour. Some examples for you – Diane Wakoski’s “Blue Monday,” Walter de la Mare’s “Silver,” and Dorothea Lasky’s “Red Rum.”
Happy writing!
THE COLOUR PURPLE
Now I am an old woman, I wear purple,
My hairdresser tints my hair to match
I wear boots especially this April
Before little birds begin to hatch
I try not to write purple prose
I like to wear amethysts, for they are healing
I love purple in flowers, pansies, and even a rose
Lilac and lavender are purple's sisters with paler feeling
I have lots of purple clothing to wear
From lingerie to coats, through blouses and skirts.
I have purple shoes and tights, I swear
I love lavender socks paired with
lilac t-shirts.
