#NaPoWriMo
Here’s today’s optional prompt. This one comes from the poet and fiction writer Todd Dillard, who provided this idea on his twitter account a few months ago. The idea is to write a poem in which two things have a fight. Two very unlikely things, if you can manage it. Like, maybe a comb and a spatula. Or a daffodil and a bag of potato chips. Or perhaps your two things could be linked somehow – like a rock and a hard place – and be utterly sick of being so joined. The possibilities are endless!
Happy Writing!
☆☆Today, I wanted to write a poem about Mother Earth Day but still using the prompt ( convoluted I know!🤣)☆☆
PUTIN V MOTHER EARTH - A TRIOLET
In the red corner, we have Putin from the Russian Federation.
In the blue corner, we have the beautiful Mother Earth.
Putin pollutes her air with missiles, drones, without cessation.
In the red corner, we have Putin from the Russian Federation.
A warmonger, he is out to destroy the Ukranian nation.
He doesn't care about damage or loss he doesn't know it's worth.
In the red corner, we have Putin from the Russian Federation.
In the blue corner, we have the beautiful Mother Earth.
Putin kills civilians and bombs their homes into the ground.
He commits war crimes at every turn.
He sacrifices Russian youth to the fight year-round
Putin kills civilians and bombs their homes into the ground.
Mother Earth is stripped of her crops and Venus hair fern*
Putin kills civilians and bombs their homes into the ground.
He commits war crimes at every turn.
Finally, the US have released billions of dollars for Ukraine. Mother Earth will have vengeance on the Russian Federation.
She will flood, cause landslides, sending lots of rain.
Finally, the US have released billions of dollars for Ukraine.
With sophisticated air defences, Ukraine may make a gain.
But peace talks end wars, Putin's
megalomania knows no cessation.
Finally, the US have released billions of dollars for Ukraine. Mother Earth will have vengeance on the Russian Federation
*Venus hair fern is one of 39 therapeutic ferns that grow in Ukraine*
