Reading through my poetry to see if it needs improving,
Leads me to conclude I return to the same subjects.
Climate change is the huge one; there is no planet B!
The wars in Gaza and Ukraine trouble my mind,
All that death, destruction, pain, and grief.
I return to my own grief, from time to time,
Although it is always with me, it lives in my heart.
I come back to domestic violence as a survivor.
My experiences as a wife, mother, and grandmother;
Inform how I view the world in general.
The loss of love and how I've learned to love myself.

The one human emotion I have never lost,
Is hope, and I sincerely hope, I never do!
