To Mr Jobsworth at Lees libray
Who wouldn't put my poster up
Because I was charging money,
I explained the money was to
cover the rent of the room I had
To pay, but Mr Jobsworth said no.
I told him they had put my poster
Up at Oldham Library, but he
Was not for persuading, he was
Representing Oldham Council.
Well Oldham Council, how about
Some funding for my Poetry Skills Event?

*I asked 'Mr Jobsworth' if I could put my poster up in Lees Library. He said it was because the Library represented Oldham Council and events had not to 'make money' so it couldn't go up. I explained to him my event was not making money as the money charged was to pay for the cost of the room at Hack, Oldham, which is a social enterprise. Even after telling him that Oldham Library had put it up, the answer was still no.
I appreciate that there are rules but why do people interpret them so rigidly? If it is a rule of Oldham Council, then why does one Library put the poster up and another Library refuses? There is no consistency here.*
