🧿Haibun No.19🧿 – Age

#haibun

Age, they say, is a number. In my head, I am about 29 but my body tells me I will be 70 next April.

age creeps up
when you are not looking,
three score years and ten

I have gained a lot of experience of life along the way, some joyous, some tragic, all were life lessons learned. I had thought my mind would be content to just rest, but no it is as brimming full with ideas as it ever was.

words come unbidden
into the active mind, to
form new poetry

If only my body wasn't so riddled with the chronic pain of arthritis,  I would be able to 'do' so much more. Then, I remind myself, I am a human 'being'.

just being can be
enough - letting ideas
percolate slowly
