Syrian rebels topple Assad in 2 weeks
Assad seeks and is granted asylum
In Russia, but it is embarrassing for Putin
Who has spent a great deal of money

Propping up the depraved Syrian regime.
Now it has been swept away in such a short time
Already some in Britain are calling for 
The new regime to be legitimised.

But we should wait and see if the rhetoric
Is true, many of the rebels have connections
To Al-Quieda, we should be cautious,
If the new regime respects minorities.

Have we learned nothing from Afghanistan?
And its subjugation of girls and women.
