John Parker's biography of Sir Sean Connory is well researched and written, and I found it a fascinating read.
The author started from his birth and catalogued his life until his death in 2020. He interviewed many of his friends and fellow actors, so I got a real sense of the man, the actor, and the film star.
The early years were a real rags to riches story and his time playing James Bond which brought him mega fame was to prove a double edged sword.
He struggled after the Bond years to establish himself as a professional actor who was passionate about acting. Sean Connery was a very private man and insisted on keeping his private life out of the media.
He set up an educational trust in his native Scotland and trusts for his children when he and his first wife Diane Cilento got divorced.
He was finally recognised by the British establishment in 2000, when he received a well-deserved knighthood. He was a tax exile from the UK and adored playing golf with his second wife, Micheline Roquebrune.
I really enjoyed this biography. This is another book from World Of Books which was used but in good condition.
