what can be
is raised by intention
it is magic

No. 2
calls them home
but the sea keeps her secrets
the sirens sing

No. 3
In April, the
flowers blossom and grow
showers fall

No. 4
where poppies grow
fields forever, England
soldiers' unmarked graves

No. 5
open hostilities
no cease fire agreed
the killing goes on

No. 6
no more doom scrolling, 
TV or radio news, 
peace and quiet

No. 7
flowers call them home
fragrant blossoms, soft colours,
all to no avail

No. 8
to welcome dusk
the starlight curtain,
the empty stage
