The Sacred Moon - A Ghazel
I have a clock that shows the phases of the moon.
Above my time clock, so I have both hour and moon.
Each of the thirteen full moons has a name, like Wolf,
Snow, Worm, and April's full moon is the Pink moon.
The moon is a Goddess, Luna, Diana
and
Selene, the pagans and witches honour the moon.
From new, to waxing crescent to first quarter, then
Waxing gibbous, and the brightness of the full moon
Then she wanes gibbous, last quarter, and wanes crescent,
Before the darkness and again she's the new moon.
The moon enhances intuition, rebirths and
Clears the way, for manifestation - clever moon!
She has been celebrated and revered throughout
History, Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, loved the moon.
The moon rules time, darkness, and the high and low tides.
Women's menstrual cycles align with the moon.
The Vixen of Verse loves and lives her light cycles,
She illuminates the night sky - beautiful moon!
