Oldham Library Writers Group meets fortnightly at the library 6.30 - 8.00 pm on Tuesdays. I went for the first time last night, Tuesday 15th April, for the first time.
This is only the fourth time they have met, and like any new peer group, it is finding its feet. There have been as many as 11 attend and as few as 3, last night there were 4 of us.
However, don't be put off by numbers. This is a warm, friendly, and welcoming group of writers with lots of ideas on how to go forward with this group.
We listened to each other's writing on the loose theme of villains. As it is NaPoWriMo I had written a poem that fit the theme.
The theme for the next meeting is ' Song Lyrics' using a song lyric to prompt a short story, flash fiction, or poem. We will also have a writing exercise of some type too.
A big thank you to Naj, Abu and Joe who
made me so welcome to this fledgling group. The group is also on WhatsApp.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, 29th April from 6.30 - 8.00 pm, at Oldham Library. All genres of writers are welcome at any stage of their writing journey. Why not come along and check it out? You will be made very welcome.
