I was attending the above monthly event last night, 17th April 2025 6 pm - 8 pm, so I decided to arrive about 5pm and have my 'tea'.
What a fabulous meal I had, home-cooked cheese and onion pie, mashed potatoes and beans ( mushy peas was an alternative) and gravy, all for £7. It was delivered quickly, was piping hot and delicious. I really recommend the Fox & Pine for its food, friendly atmosphere and lovely bar staff.
The pub has won CAMRA's prestigious pub of the year award for the fourth year running and is a real ale drinkers paradise. I had a non-alchohlic Corona beer, so everyone is catered for.
Once the lovely Geli arrived at 6 pm we went upstairs for Around the Fire: Storytelling Across Cultures. This monthly event encourages people to come together to share stories from our different cultures.
This is a warm and welcoming group that has a prompt sheet on a theme for the less confident storytellers. Eight o'clock came around all too soon as we discussed ageing and discovered some unusual fears some of us had about the process.
The next meeting is on: Thursday, 15th May 2025 6 - 8pm at The Fox & Pine (upstairs). Come along and share your story.
