Your children should outlive you,
In the natural order of living.
What do you do if they die before you?
Does life become a mere walkthrough?
Will there be a self forgiving?
Your children should outlive you.
Is grief something you carry through
Your life, a sort of constant grieving.
What do you do if they die before you?
You have to unpick your beliefs, unglue
Those thoughts go on unforgiving.
Your children should outlive you.
The pain of loss is like a run-through
Of a sword, you don't want this living.
What do you do if they die before you?
You carry on, life does not stop for you.
Grief is where love goes, caregiving.
Your children should outlive you.
