Well, after I got over the disappointment that this was not a continuation of Alice's story as the Book 3 in the Portuguese Paradise Series, it took me a while to get into Layla's story.
The author Chris Penhall definitely has the same theme running through all three books, that mistakes in the past should be forgiven and let go.
I found a lot of similarities between Alice and Layla, and with only Ignacio connecting the three stories, I did not think it lived up to Books 1 & 2. It would have been better as a standalone book. I found the whole set-up misleading.
☆☆☆ Not recommended as a continuation of the series. OK as a standalone.
