On Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, Waterhead Park's Community Growing Hub and Cafe is open from 11 am - 3 pm.
My friend and I have been a few times now and always receive a warm welcome from Caroline and Gary.
The area is full of plants, flowers, and vegetables growing. There is a large poly tunnel, and plants are on sale everywhere you look. There are comfortable chairs and benches where you can, while away the time reading a book or chatting with friends and strangers who may become friends!
The cafe serves delicious, reasonably priced food which you can eat inside or out. Obviously, the sale of food and drink and plants is what keeps the place going. It is run by volunteers under the guidance of Caroline and Gary.
Inside the cafe there are lovely hand-made crafts, jewellery and cards for sale.
There is a small pond to investigate and you can watch the bees from a distance! Their honey should be ready for sale around September time.
