Personally, I am a firm believer in the value of planning,
It shapes my life with a comfort-blanket of imagined control.
The older I get, the more important it is that I write.
I often think of all the women before me, ironing each day.
Smoothing out life's creases and staying loose at the same time.
My aim was to make sense of what had  happened and was still happening.
Entering the shadow regions of my mind with trepidation.
Even in dark woods, some light must shine.
Creating order from heaps of chaos;
We shared with perilous exuberance a politics of hope.
I feel your pain as you feel mine, universality.
When there's time
I'll tidy it one day, I promise. 
I'll edit it in the dark reaches of a tormented brain.
