🧡💛Cento: Found Poetry💛🧡No 6 – The Binding💛🧡

#cento #found #poetry

The whole house was quiet,
It was getting dark.
The stairs creaked under my feet.
Here, the clock in the hall
dredged up seconds like stones.
I could see the pulse beating
At the base of his neck,
He was afaid.
The realisation took me by surprise.
But he should be afraid,
The voice in my head said.
I closed my eyes.
I felt the stone wall against my skull.
I felt strange.
It was real, I wasn't imagining it.

Now we were in the Glade,
The circle had been cast.
I watched the moon until
the fear grew too big for me.
The shadows swirled around me.
We can't stay out here all night,
The voice in my head said we could.
My knees went weak,
It sucked me in.
It's the binding that matters,
Binding's a good craft.
Words rose in my throat,
But the voice in my head said silence!
Books should be beautiful
Even the ones full of shadows
Grimoires were, it seemed well named.

**In this 'found poem', I took random sentences from THE BINDING BY BRIDGET COLLINS and added a few of my own to tie it all together.  I love the Cento form of poetry, it is a real challenge.
