Here is the poem that is published in "SweetSmellJournal" Thank you to Peace Girl for including it. ( Book Review will follow).
FLAMENCO
The guitar chords are strummed,
delicate fingers follow Flamenco
riffs, as a hush falls on the audience.
The seated male singer waits, hands
clasped, his voice carries raw emotion
as he starts to sing, his hands clap.
The guitar has become embodied with
it's player, the notes are wrenched free.
The singer takes us through his agony.
His loss is palpable, shimmers in our
ears, connecting us all in a passion
wrought from guitar, song, and clapping.
The male Flamenco dancer approaches
from the darkness, his arms extended,
large hands, with their graceful moves.
His feet start their staccato beats,
getting louder and louder, he whirls,
his feet almost take off from the stage!
Unusual to see a male dancer who
dances alone, a powerhouse, he
unleashes his fiery passion upon us.
The components, music, singing,
dancing, and clapping, a synergy,
that leads to our rapturous applause.
