I want to walk on the street's sunny side.
Yet, the relentless shadows follow me.
I love the avenues so broad and wide,
The trees in green leaf, this is what I see.
The summer sun, the gentle breeze, will touch,
Closed eyes, sun dapples light on my eye-lid.
Breeze blows across me, with the lightest touch,
The dark shadows beckon from where they hid.
I am awakening and will rise to greet
This gothic darkness, that will rise inside.
Swirl around me, fingers grip, there, we meet.
The kaleidoscope in which we will hide.
Light needs darkness, and the dark needs light.
As above, so below, the witch's plight.
