I chose my spot carefully.
The mountain peaks rose
behind the trees, and the
sun was setting like an orb.

red tone, my heart beat
too fast in my chest, the
rush of shame at my loss
of faith came to my mind.
My turmoil would strip me
bare while above me the
birds roosted in the tall trees.
