OCEAN POLLUTION
Jaw clenched, the environmentalist
viewed the debris and oil with despair.
It was as if wild beasts had polluted
the salty tides with noxious waste.
Sadly, it was humans whose vault
was emptied into the ocean's water.
Angryvoices raised in the government
are not the ones who have to clean it
up; those on the ship have to slather
on microbes in bioremediation to help
separate oil from water, we watch from
the edges of the containment booms.
If a stitch in time will save nine
then prevention must be better
managed; education must prevail
and tilt the nay-sayers into the
reality of human caused pollution.
Restore the sea to silver topped waves!
