dentist's appontment,
always faced with fear
remnants of childhood
when dentists were butchers
who caused us so much pain!

*My abiding and still vivid memories of going to the school dentist. The dentist put me under with 'gas' and I woke up minus six teeth, a mouthful of bloody cotton wool and gums that took half an hour to stop bleeding! No sympathy from said dentist who just wanted to get rid of me so he could butcher his next victim/patient. The trauma still lives with me but thankfully now I have a lovely dentist who has the time and patience to overcome my very genuine fears.*
