A walk down memories' many lanes,
Basking in the sunshine of endless summers.
Catching those snatches of conversation,
Dear friends no longer with us now.
Even so - kept alive in memory,
Friends who became lovers are all
Gone - solitude is a peaceful
Haven where I live with my cats.
Intuiting their every need and meow.
Joy spreads softly providing a new
Kith and kin to care for and love,
Long after the children are grown up,
Married and gone to live away.
No regrets because they are futile.
Only a longing for reconciliation beyond
my
Power to bring about, I live in the now, still
Questing for knowledge and understanding.
Ready to follow the flow and change in
Subtle ways, that do not disturb
This hard won calmness of mind.
Undulating brain waves like the sands of time
Veer into words and verses, that
Wonderful poetry in it's daily flow.
X -rated sometimes to expose the faults,
Years in the making of war and peace the
Zeitgeist of the 21st Century!
