Please create one senryu and one haiku to accompany this image prompt. Remember that traditional American haikus and senryus are three lines presented in a 5-7-5 syllabic pattern. The haiku describes nature or a season, and the senryu focuses on human nature and emotions.

VIXEN of VERSE 
Even the beauty of the image can’t take away from the fact there is war and destruction around us. It’s sad, but true, and it angers me that we can’t just live in a world right now where this takes us away from enjoying the good. The second does pull me back into the image where the peace lays though. Good job, Carolyn, for these evocative pieces!

Thank you, Susi. This war with Iran seems so unnecessary. I can remember the wars between the US/UK and Iraq and then Afghanistan. Didn’t Trump promise no more, long drawn-out wars? Have we not learned anything? As a veteran, on the front line in Northern Ireland, I soon learned how futile war was. Why can’t we all live in peace? My fear is that this war will go on and on. Now, Iran is holding the whole world to ransom by bombing container ships in the Strait of Hormuz and pushing up the price of oil. Surely Trump’s military advisors saw this coming? Or has he succeeded in surrounding himself with ‘yes’ men? The Israelis are now bombing Lebanon with impunity. How many more children have to die before Hesbolah is obliterated? It is another genocide just like Gaza. What an unsafe world we live in. Sorry, Susi, I think I just needed a rant on what is Mother’s Day here in the UK. 🌹🌿❌️❤️🙂

((hugs)) I feel you, Carolyn! The state of the world right now is quite unsettling. The cheeto-in-charge has made it worse by his actions. And don’t worry about ranting, it’s good to sometimes.
