About Poetry – How to write a Ghazal
is your love the face of silence in the middle of chaos? would it camouflage as peace when there is rage in the middle of chaos?
is your love a little hush in the darkness of the night? would it stifle my restlessness in the middle of chaos?
is your love present when there is war around? would i find it easily in the middle of chaos?
is your love the solitude i catch in being alone? would it then be okay if i love you in the middle of chaos?
is your love the forever i’ve waited and longed for? would it stand still and strong in the middle of chaos?
***Ghazal – A 7th century Arabian form composed of 5 to 15 couplets that are structurally, thematically and emotionally autonomous. Each line is approximately the same length. There is no required meter or syllable count. The final couplet includes the poet’s name or name meaning. The rhyme scheme is: AA, bA, cA. dA, etc… Where A is a 1 -3 word phrase that is taken from the 1st line of the 1st couplet and occurs at the end of the second line in all subsequent couplets
