A Blessing or a Curse?
Love can be a blessing or a curse!
We want to lie together and make love, be replete.
We long for it and say, “Fate, do your worst!”
For we are young, without guile, but will often repeat
These acts with the very same words and reactions.
We imbue with romance what is passion or lust.
Blame ourselves when what is wrong are not our actions,
The violence, the hurt, when it all turns to dust.
Time to get out, to flee, to leave, head for a safer shore. Time to grow strong, get over the bitter disappointment,
When love leaves you with children; debts by the score.
As you grow stronger, to love your sons seems heaven sent!
So when a man talks of love and passion, woman beware!
Give love to family and cats, give him, your best death stare!
