Roses are red while violets are blue,
In the language of love, what do they say?
Red is for courage, strong, and so true,
Deep romantic love will lead the way.
Blue violets speak of a secret love.
Modesty and humility abound,
Faithfulness that can only be dreamed of;
Will sustain and keep your feet on the ground.
While white lillies are a funeral flower.
They symbolise the purity of rebirth.
Capture dew and rain drops in a shower,
As our bodies are returned to the earth.
Petricor fills us with its earthy scent.
As we live, love, into our final lament.
