a murder of crows,
an unkindness of ravens,
strange group names
strange group names,
traditionally English
a poet's delight
a poet's delight
new forms to write to,
emotions to share
emotions to share,
as only the poet knows
how to express love
how to express love,
those Shakespeare's sonnets
from so long ago
from so long ago,
French Triolets, the Lai poems
and the Villanelles
and the Villanelles
that will not go gently
into that good night
into that good night
the words dance like fiery flames,
alliteration
aliteration –
proper poetic device
weaves wise words
weaves wise words,
the spell making verses
written with intention
written with intention
for a parliament of owls,
strange group names
strange group names,
an unkindness of ravens,
a murder of crows!

It does for sure! Superstition seems not to like crows and ravens. ❤️

Thank you, Sadje. I have a book called “An Unkindness of Ravens: A book of collective nouns by Chloe Rhodes” which tells you the history of these sayings. I have to say, my favourite is “a murder of crows”, which appears in my poetry now and then. 🙂❤️❌️

You’re very welcome Carolyn. I like this too though it sounds a bit sinister. 😅
