Congratulations to Maria Corina Machado of Venezuela for being awarded the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.
I am so glad the Nobel committee did not give into President Donald Trump's bully boy tactics and outrageous and mostly unsubstantiated claims that he has brought 7 wars around the world to an end.
As Gaza goes into its umpteenth ceasefire, we will see if it holds. I pray it does for both the Isrealies and those poor Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, the Russian aggression against Ukraine goes on with increasing ferocity. The war Trump declared he would stop in 24 hours continues despite the pomp and ceremony in Alaska Trump awarded Putin. As usual Putin played him.
Perhaps Trump will learn that there are some things money can't buy, and that self-praise is no recommendation. Thank goodness for the independence and integrity of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.
