In dreams, I hear you call my name.
I see your smile, hear your laughter.
Yet awake, I find it hard to frame
Your face; your voice so sought after.
To feel again the warmth of your touch,
The passion of your lips kissing mine.
Losing myself in your smell – too much!
That moment when stars would align.
My tears of sorrow have ceased to fall,
As time marches ever on and on.
The world has turned and ceased its call
Of young love, experienced in the sun.
I've reached a place where I love myself.
My books of life lived are on the shelf.
