Love has been, gone, and come again.
From birth, childhood, and middle age,
Now into old age's melancholy refrain,
Love has been, gone, and come again.
Now I feel I've come in from the rain,
Never again, to feel that angst and rage.
Love has been, gone, and come again,
From birth, childhood, and middle age.
That safe parental love that flowed;
Sisterly love, belonging to the past.
Romantic love that brightly glowed,
That safe parental love that flowed.
Love for children that sacred DNA code,
That was forever designed to last.
That safe parental love that flowed;
Sisterly love, belonging to the past.
The toxic love crashed and burned,
Until I cast it away without any pity.
A knife plunged in, twisted, and turned,
The toxic love crashed and burned.
Those once loved, forever spurned.
A betrayal down to the nitty-gritty.
The toxic love crashed and burned,
Until I cast it away without any pity.
