The King's Justice by E.M. Powell is an engrossing tale of heinous murders during the reign of Henry II.
The unlikely duo of Barling and Stanton is sent to a village to investigate the murder of the local blacksmith because the Lord of the Manor is incapable of doing so.
The tension builds as further deaths occur, and the king's men, Barling the clerk and Stanton the messenger, are in a race against time to discover the truth and bring the perpetrator to justice.
The story has high drama and a growing respect between the two partners.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and I am looking forward to book 2.
