Fighting pain moment by moment,
Breathing and distraction techniques.
Medication side effects not heaven sent.

Body bombarded, so stiff and bent.
Feeling like one of nature's freaks,
Fighting pain moment by moment,

Rest, move, rest, keep repeating.
Reading and writing block it out
For a while, but it's so defeating.

What little energy I have is depleting,
It feels like an agonising wrestling bout.
