Abigail Dean's Girl A is an amazing but visceral story of first neglect and then child abuse and murder as a father spirals into madness.
The story centres on the aftermath of a horrific family tragedy and how the surviving children survive it as they all grow up in separate foster homes.
The abuse they suffer at the hands of their father as his sanity unravels and the complicity of their mother is brought to a head with Girl A's dramatic escape.
This book is exceptionally well written and researched.
