One Lost Soul by J. M. Dalgliesh is a well plotted crime thriller, the first in The Hidden Norfolk Murder Mystery Series. It makes for a very good start.
The characters are well drawn and believable as the mystery unfolds. With the discovery of a young girl's body, secrets are difficult to pry out of the locals. Local Inspector Tom Jannsen and Acting Chief Inspector Tamara Greave, who is brought in as SIO, have their work cut out to bring a killer to justice.
I liked the interaction between the police officers and the mystery, which remained just that until the final reveal. An excellent book.
