Sleep is crying out for the night,
Not the brightness of the light.
Insomnia is such a human plight,
When will my body get it right?
When dawn's sky comes into sight,
Then sleep overtakes me like a blight.
Making me miss the morning light,
Sleep now, such a precious invite.
Afternoon naps close me up like niobite.
The darkness blocks out the sunlight.
Like a vampire, I thrive in evening light,
Surrender myself to the dark night!
My circadian rhythm has taken flight..
Bedtime routines are like a fight
With my nature, which gets so uptight,
Sleep versus awake is such a dogfight..
I long to just sleep through the night,
To wake in the morning to the light.
My energy levels I could – reignite,
Seperate the hours of day and night.
