I found The Mapmaker's Daughter by Clare Marchant a fascinating read.
A time-slip story from the present day and Elizabethan England, the author manages the two stories seamlessly.
It is a story of grief in the present day and an exciting story of Tudor England, particularly with regard to Elizabeth I, Sir Francis Drake, and the Dutch Sea Beggars
Involving Dutch Huguenots, whose history I have little knowledge of, I found the story really interesting. As I have French Huguenot ancestry, this is a subject I am sure I will want to discover more about.
