In Book 5, Forsaken Soul by Priscilla Royal, we are back in her well researched Medieval England of 1273.
Ralf the crowner is back and seeks the help of Tyndal's Prioress, Eleanor of Wynethorpe, Sister Anne and Brother Thomas to solve a murder by poisoning.
Eleanor's aunt sends a letter informing her that Brother Thomas is a church spy and she is hurt and furious at what she sees as his betrayal. Meanwhile she has to come to terms with her friend, Juliana being an anchoress at Tyndal and all the problems that brings.
As always, Priscilla Royal's storytelling draws you into the medieval world she has created in her Medieval mystery series. We delve into a world where women can seemingly only be virgins, wives, nuns or whores.
This series has 14 books in all and I am sure I will return to read some more in the future.
