📚Book Review📚 – The Wonder of Brian Cox by Ben Falk

I wanted to read Ben Falk's biography,  The Wonder of Brian Cox, because Professor Brian Cox comes from Oldham as do I.

I found this book disappointing on several levels:
•It needs proofreading and corrections made.
• It needs copy editing to increase the chapters. They are all far too long and convoluted.
• All the author's comments and asides need removing, especially the I'll tell you later ones.
•Clarification of who is commenting. Some passages are unclear.
• A biography should be about the person it is written about, not the author.

That said, from about Chapter 5 onwards, the author seems to get into his stride and get on with the story. Professor Cox is an interesting character and has had a varied and insightful career, which I enjoyed reading about. The book appears well researched.  The book finishes in 2012, which is a pity, as I would like to know what he has been doing in the intervening years.

☆☆☆ – perhaps look for a more up to date and more professionally produced biography.
