There is a lullaby for suffering sung,
From deep within the human soul.
Where sounds of anguish are wrung.
Ask not for salvation from a tree strung,
Beg not for your brokeness to be whole.
There is a lullaby for suffering sung.
With each gasping breath of your lung,
Be not afraid of your lifetime's goal.
Where sounds of anguish are wrung.
Anger and deep despair which stung,
Your scars seen and unseen ā your role,
There is a lullaby for suffering sung.
Be the singer, sing the song, your tongue
Of fire flames your repentant parole,
Where sounds of anguish are wrung.
Your courageous deeds are still unsung
Be brave and sing them, let them toll.
There is a lullaby for suffering sung,
Where sounds of anguish are wrung.
