I was given a copy of The Snow and The Works on the Northern Line by Ruth Thomas by the lovely Karen Bartlett who thought it would be 'my kind of thing' and it was.
I liked how there was a theme of poetry acting as therapy throughout this novel. This appealed very much to my own use of poetry as therapy. The character of Sybil made you care what happened to her. All sorts of things happened to Sybil against the background of where she worked at the Royal Institute of Prehistorical Studies.
The story is subtle and well observed. There is love, loss, grief, and revenge all playing out in this story.
Thank you, Karen!
