Shadow of Darkness, by Deborah Harkness is the second book in the All Souls Series.
Like book 1, A Discovery of Witches I have read this book several years ago but this time I listened to the audiobook which made it a different experience. Jennifer Ikeda the narrator brings the story to life.
Book 2 continues the story of Diana Bishop a witch and Matthew de Clairmount a vampire and their forbidden love story. This book takes us back to Elizabethan England (by magic) and we are immersed in one of Matthew's past lives.
I enjoyed the premise of the story and the world that Deborah Harkness creates. I am now looking forward to listening to book 3.
*I listened to this audio book on the BORROWBOX app, which is my local library's ebook/audio book reader. I can borrow and read/listen to books for FREE with my membership card details – Check your local library for details.*
☆☆☆☆☆Highly recommended reading.
